A Haunting

COME WHAT MAY
Photographer Michaela Knizova

" I am student of New Media in Kosice, Slovakia. I am working with photography, performance and video art. I am inspired by fairy tales, legends about saints or Gothic movies. Reality is not used in my art, I mystify real life sometimes, and I change it into romanticism and fiction.

I am not sure if I have a haunted story with happy or funny end. I used to be a sleepwalker and I do strange things. Once, I found the red thread unravelled all over my room. And sometimes I’m standing over the bed of a sleeping boy or girl and watching him/her sleep. People sleeping near me may have strange dreams. "

This photoshoot is so haunting. The photography is so beautiful. The colours are amazing, the faded blurry lighting and effects of the photoshoot reflect her blurred memory of when she's sleeping. All this really sets the dream like scene; is this a fairy tale, or a nightmare?

you want some candy girl??

One of my favourite photographers of a good few years now; viktor vautier. Just love the colours of this shoot, both the clothing and the background compliment each other so well. I'm not much of a colour person but the candy floss shades are so sweet

UB Early Fall 2011

I've gotta say Urban Outfitters is definitely one of my favourite shops on the high street. I love the unique style it offers especially compared to the other high street labels, as well as the lifestyle it promotes and stands for. I also like the fact that the brand is aware of current contemporary influences and uses photography as a strong promotional tool; they care about the photography aspect in a more artistic form as well as the styling of the clothes to create a great end result

This is one of their new photoshoots for their early fall 2011 catalogue. I just love the raw quality to the photos with natural and playful poses from the models. The styling is so youthful and unique, containing to their individual brand image which it has.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT

spotted this photographer on my friends facebook wall actually. I really like the unedited look (even though they probably are), with natural almost fading lighting, and the toned down over exposed effect which his photos have. The natural yet timed composition of the models also plays a dominant part in his work.
