Resorting to Minimalism

Stella McCartney Resort 2012
With this years Summer slowly coming to an end (well, it didn't really start surely?), I'm already looking forward to browsing through the resort collections and getting a glimpse of what's to come for next years trends. I love that designers have a chance to release slightly more casual and wearable clothes as well as their ready-to-wear.

My style ALWAYS changes, and at the moment I'm liking a bit of minimalism. Although nothing majorly new, I'm loving the rather effortless and minimalistic collection from Stella McCartney. I love how this lookbook has been styled, and how it touches up on the area of clashing colours and patterns. I also love love the hawaiian prints as well as the pops off block colours, lovely!

TRIBES

I love this photoshoot and styling from Tank magazine, it definately has that punk, adrogynous influences I'm really loving right now. I love Pandora Lennard's styling, and her personal style influences really rub off in this shoot and a lot of her work

Fashion FILM

Recently for one of my modules at Uni I wrote an essay about the use of contemporary media in catwalk shows. One of the topics I concentrated on was the increasing use of fashion film to present a collection

The designer whom reflects this and uses it to his advantage is definately Gareth Pugh. I think he definately is one of the people to start this new genre of filmography and fashion. I think its an extremely effective way of showing and communicating the clothes in which they want the viewer to see.
