IN A LONELY PLACE

Since I bought the spring summer B store magazine I cant help but obsess over the store as well as the magazine. I love the quite glossy yet edgy photography it has in it. I particularly love this story in the Autumn Winter 2010-11 edition. I really love the way the menswear has been styled here which is made up of different fashion references to create what I think is a promising new style for the upcoming years. I love the tailoring mixed with the slightly Gothic and punk influences. all those yester days

I love these 3 shots from B Store Magazine's 3rd issue Autumn/ Winter 10-11, from the feature story 'All Those Yester Days'

fashion editor: Sam Ranger

I love the modern day slightly grungy, moody teen vibe in these photos, obviously the styling works a treat and plays up hugely to create this look. superb.

PSYCHEDELIC PIONEERS

There's nothing more exciting than discovering new, contemporary art, and I read about this amazing group of artists who use technology in a completely new and exciting way. I found in extremely interesting (and kidna scary and amazing) to find that New York based multimedia artist Yoshi Sodeoka produces videos and imagery through a unique way of pushing the technology and software to a breaking point where it crashes, testing your visual consumption, understanding and experience with distorted imagery and noise.
He's part of an artist group brought together at MU who create these images and videos, and are inspired by technology rather than psychedelic hallucinogenic drugs discovered in the 60's. They create these brilliant psychedelic art forms; nothing like I've seen before. With a perfect balance of using influences from the past and looking into the future with the new digital age n'all, Sodeoka's work is inspiring and influential.

"This is one of the pieces from an ongoing psychedelic/ambient video project.

This project (yet to be titled) was inspired in part by the spirit of 1970's progressive rock concept albums, ancient Greek mythology, and shamanic ritual. It will consist of several short videos. Each piece will be autonomous, albeit part of a greater whole. The final number of videos and the total length is still to be determined. Each video in the series will be released as it is completed"

UB Early Fall 2011

I've gotta say Urban Outfitters is definitely one of my favourite shops on the high street. I love the unique style it offers especially compared to the other high street labels, as well as the lifestyle it promotes and stands for. I also like the fact that the brand is aware of current contemporary influences and uses photography as a strong promotional tool; they care about the photography aspect in a more artistic form as well as the styling of the clothes to create a great end result

This is one of their new photoshoots for their early fall 2011 catalogue. I just love the raw quality to the photos with natural and playful poses from the models. The styling is so youthful and unique, containing to their individual brand image which it has.

vi0letTa

I've been admiring this girls blog for a while now, which is simply a collection of images of her.

I love her style and how she jsut pulls it off so well. The gothic, punk and vampy yet vintage and slightly grungy influences work fantastically, and the way which she is photographed adds to the whole attitude of her personal style. She also looks like she's mastered the 'I don't give a shit' look quite well..
