don't you know, ACNE is cool

I don't know what it is about Acne that I just love.
Even though it's not exactely what you would find me wearing, but everything from women's to men's, to the pre-collection; it never fails to disappoint.
The minimalistic, cool urban style really seems to be attractive, reflecting the modern day woman in a busy city.

The new S|S 12 collection saw the Acne girl a bit more relaxed and playful, with influences of Marrakesh being bought over to the Swedish fashion house. Candy hues such as light pinks, sky blues, mellow beiges and eye-popping oranges were mixed inbetween the classic uniform greys, blacks and whites. Though don’t be fooled; these minimalist colours were decorated with strips of metallic’s and contrasting leathers, as well as childlike (but very western) star shaped cut outs scattering around from the tops, to the skirts. The shapes of the clothing were not disappointing either. I love dip hems, and these seemed to be the shape of choice on this particular catwalk, adding some nicely different geometric lines through out the collection, complimenting what Acne does best; oversized, beautiful clothing.

 Daniel Silver's Work
So, I was more than impressed when Acne did a collaboration with London- based artist Daniel Silver to come up with a number of prints for Acne’s latest capsule collection. I respect designers who aren’t scared to collaborate with a brand/ company/ person beyond the obvious, and Acne have presented an amazing example of a fantastically done collection with artistic references. I love the lookbook for this collection as well, great lighting and layout; the contrasting background colours work a treat against the colourful clothing. The geometric shapes of the models clothes are being reflected nicely in her surrounding. The cropped images also work well in the series of photos, adding to the quirkiness of the whole collection.
